 Martin's Legacy

This is a Redwall called Martin's Legacy. We are new, literate, and need members. You can find the site at: http://z8.invisionfree.com/Martins_Legacy/index.php? There are story-centric positions open, too!

ML is rated PG, sometimes it may drift into PG-13, as it is a bit darker than the Redwall books.

Plot Synopsis:

Quote:
Many seasons ago, in the time of Kotir, Martin the Warrior left Noonvale and the North Shores and headed south. On the way there, he found a pretty mouse maiden who reminded him of Rose. Although he felt guilty about the whole ordeal, they fell in love, and they had a son who Martin named after his father, Luke. However, he was forced to give him up, so that he might continue his wanderings. Luke learned of his parentage some seasons later, and lost his mind in the process. He murdered his family and set off to find his father to take revenge for being abandoned. When he finally found Martin, he challenged the warrior mouse and fought him. Martin defeated him and gave him to a group of merchants.

The merchant ship was later attacked by a crew of Searats. All of the merchants were slain except for Luke, who was thrown overboard. The sea carried him to the shore, where he was found by a lovely mouse maiden. She cared for him, and he told her his story. She pitied him, and came to hate Martin too. They were later married and the mouse maid gave birth to a son, who was taught to hate and despise Martin and Redwall.

This son later wandered off and took over a kingdom to the north, ruled by a group of mustelids calling themselves The Brethren. This son's heirs slowly expanded their realm, until The Brotherhood ruled the North. But The Brotherhood was not just any horde; it contained creatures of all species, from fox to squirrel, ferret to otter.

And, during one hot summer many hundreds of seasons later, one of the mouse kings, descendant of the Warrior, heard that Martin's sword was no longer revered at Redwall and that the Abbey was in decline. Taking the opportunity, the mouse king lead a small group of woodlanders to Redwall. And there he found the sword of his ancestor, the sword which the Warrior had used to defeat his son in battle. And he took it, burning down the Abbey in the process.

With Redwall greatly weakened, vermin and evil woodlanders spread through the lands. Corsairs sailed up the River Moss to escape the Long Patrol on the Western Shore. Soon, there were corsair crews everywhere in Mossflower and it wasn't safe for woodlanders to wander away from Redwall.

In the north, there was a clan of rats descended from Cluny. They had all been taught to hate woodlanders and Redwall. At first, their leader tried to carve out his own empire, fighting against the Brethren and their horde. However, he realized that they both hated Redwall, and they decided to work together. And at the ruins of Marshank, a descendant of Badrang found his ancestor's fortress and made plans to rebuild the fortress. He gathered a band of slavers and went into Mossflower Country to enslave the woodlanders there. With these three great dark hordes; those of Badrang's descendant, the clan of Cluny, and first and foremost, the Brotherhood, the reign of the vermin is at paw.

Now the creatures of Redwall, torn apart by inner rivalries and rabid racism towards "vermin", must try to band together and retrieve the sword. But the King of The Brethren is most definitely not the only problem standing in their way, most especially since it is only the Father Abbot himself who trusts in Martin's Sword - and he may not be Father Abbot for long...

It is the year 2052, and the world as we know it is gone.

There are strange, unique children with the ability to transform into animals of all types; dogs, wolves, horses, just to name a few.

You see, in the future, everything must be perfect. And these children are most certainly...not. The government set up a climate controlled observation exhibit; something they called a Menagerie. An old city from the year 2008 was converted into the exhibit, thousands of thousands of miles of standard bullet-and-explosion-proof two layer thick glass walls surround the old city.

The Menagerie was designed to keep these children locked away from the whole of futuristic society; and now scientists have been assigned to study their habits. They who are the Keepers.

In the short year that the Menagerie has been opened, there have been startling observations; the children of the Menagerie seemed to have formed social groups. They call them the 'Rings of Order' ; three of them have yet been formed, and it is presumed that in the future there will be even more.

As test subjects keep flowing in by the day, decisions are to be made. What will you become? A savage Carna? A dignified Fulsi? Or a member of the docile Fallen?

Plot Ideas by Mourge of The Menagerie, 2008.

EYE CANDY:
Medium-Advanced Roleplay

Life has its ups and downs, but when you’re stuck in the third dimension, everything can feel surreal. The residents of Tsamii, are already acquainted with this idea. Many of them have just realized their ability to shape shift, which is causing great confusion around town, and some of these shifters are starting to use their powers to reap the wrong benefits. Those humans who have not been blessed with the ability to shape shift, are completely unaware of their colleague’s magical gifts and simply blame the unusual sightings around town on defective prescription drugs.

There was a legend the natives once spoke of:

The dogs made of silver tiger, clad with the stripes of heaven and the powers of the sun itself. Dogs that could take down anything, dogs that fought for good and the sake of all animals, humans alike. Dogs that roamed the country side, dogs whose paws shook mountains and crumbled canyons.

A legend of dogs.

But this legend is old, the silver dogs of Ohu are long gone, and their bodies rot in the ground along side their greatest allies and their greatest enemies. The silver chapter has ended with the death of the last of the silver akita inus, the last of the great bear dogs. But this silver fanged legend is not over, this book unfinished. Brilliant white pages lay out before all the most powerful dogs of Japan, waiting for a new legend to appear on its pages.

Will you be the first to pick up the pen?

Ginga Denkiteki Omaesan, just as its name suggests, is a Ginga-universe sort of role-play. Meaning, it is based on the same setting, locations and generalized plot occurrences as seen in the popular anime series Ginga Densetsu Weed and its predecessor Ginga Nagareboshi Gin. However, in all honesty, GDO is nothing short of a wild/stray dog role-play. Though the anime are supplied for your viewing pleasure should you wish to enjoy them, it is not required or even necessary to have seen a single anime episode to partake in the site's many festivities. All the canon characters are long gone, the plot and forum set up geared toward the creation of a completely new, all original Ginga legend based entirely on what you and other members want. Ginga experience is an optional accessory.

Beyond being a very laid-back community, GDO features an extensive art and imagery center, as well as massive areas for character development and building. So if you're looking for a dog rp forum full of people dedicated to rping and their characters, as opposed to one of these small trashy sites where people go through characters like toilet paper, this will surely end your search.

So come, write your own legend:

A Twilight Based RP
The Ultimate What If

What if Edward was human?
What if Bella was a vampire?
Would they still fall in love?

Forks, a small town in the Olympic Peninsula. A quiet town with little excitement and little change. The weather is predictable, almost always cloudy with a chance of rain. The perfect place for a vegetarian vampire family to live; at least that was what the Cullen’s thought when they moved just outside of the cozy town. Everything was going great, until he showed up.

Edward Swan, son of police chief Swan, had all the heads turning, especially Bella Cullen’s. His blood was intoxicating and it was all she could do to not maul him in class. But things are much more complicated then her lust for his blood. The foolish vampire has fallen, hard, for the boy who seems to be able to read other’s minds.

Meanwhile, Forks is filling up, with vampires. A coven of five, known as the Fraser’s, who believe that vampire’s should be pure, that they should drink only the blood of human’s and the fact that the Cullen’s have shunned that way of life infuriates the Fraser’s. They feel it is there job, no duty, to clean the earth of the Cullen’s presences by either showing them back to the crimson light of human blood, or destroying them. If that didn’t cause enough strain, a blast from Bella’s past shows up, her creator come to show her his love for her.

With so many new vampires in town, the citizens of La Push are in an uproar as the youth begin to change into werewolves, protectors of the land.

There is a war brewing in Forks, unknown by the humans. Which side are you on?

Vampire | Human | Werewolf

It all started with some mangy stray mutts. Lost they were until they were impounded, confined, caged... That is until one day three men entered the old pound. Hundreds of rows of dogs were everywhere. The men were dressed like any other person in the city, seemed like the ordinary- but that was only a disguise to bring down the suspicion. They were all a lab group, or science team. They purchased every single dog in the entire pound until every cell was vacant.

They took the dogs in vans. Each scientist acting as if they hadn't known the other. They sent in more of their workers to take three or four dogs with them each day, as if they were buying them for their own liking. All the dogs that were in the trucks and vans were rounded up and shipped to the team's lab. It was when they had completed getting every dog into pens did they begin their experiment. It was illegal, but even though they knew it was, they only did it for 'the greater good' of man kind. The whole reason for the experiment was to sharpen human senses; smell, sight, hearing, and to make them more stronger, faster, and quick witted. Their test subjects: Canines.

They began injecting chemicals and substances that seemed unknown to many into the dogs. Trying each and every thing. Though every time they failed, another canine dead... another lab-rat nobody cared for, a worthless mangy mutt. At least that's how they saw it. At the team's last attempt at the experiment, they failed. After that the team decided to shut it all down, they would not be able to return the surviving dogs to the pound. There were 50 total dogs that had been tested with the same substance, the same chemicals. The team had gathered them all together in a small chamber, and turned on their destructive machines. Clouds of gas had filled the room. This was to dispose of the dogs, once they breathed it in, they would suffocate to death.

All the canines had went unconscious- not dead like the crew had thought. When the procedure had been completed the heavy door was slide open, and workers filled the room to drag out the limp bodies. As they did, one by one each dog staggered to it's paws, foaming at the mouth. Each with sharp eye sight, hearing, strong sense of smell, and they were stronger, faster, and quick witted... Gas, it was the last thing that completed their evolution. The team had gotten what they wanted, but lost their workers. Each and everyone of them were brutally slaughtered by the jaws of a dog. The jaws of a reject, a reject they had created. Though with a drop of blood to add to the canines, it had made them more aggressive, territorial, and violent.

Later on after the Rejects, which is the name were dubbed with, sought shelter. All of them stayed in a group, though as the pack stuck together they began to realize things they could not withstand. One, being light. In faint rays of light they are fine, but by day they are blinded by then sun. Only in the shadows they walk, rarely do they venture out in daylight. Another defect is their hearing, it is extremely sharp and could hear you from miles away. Though if whistles or high pitch noises are heard, they go into fits. They don't keep to themselves when this happens either. It's more like a massacre. With these threatening canines around the packs have continuously been invaded. Innocent dogs have been slain without mercy, pups have been stolen, Fae's have been taken from the lack of their own, being misused for the dreaded packs own purpose. The Rejects have started to take prisoners, making Fae's slaves, ambushing packs...

Loved ones taken, friends and close ones murdered, pups arriving into a world of violence and malice, becoming corrupted.. It was all peaceful until the the experiments birth. It is anew for one, but it is the end for some. In order for the packs to save their lives will they have to fight back? Risk it all? Or will it be every dog for themselves? All the packs pride has had much damaged inflicted upon it already, will they fall before the malicious pack? Only you can choose their destiny now. Hope seems lost for all the packs against these power hungry canines. Though it has only just begun. Meet a match.. Meet your maker... it's a dog-eat-dog world out there now.

+ Description:It wasn't that long ago since the humans disappeared, since they just packed up what really mattered and left. Even their pet dogs got left behind, leaving the newly made strays to roam the streets in an effort to survive. It wasn't fully understood by the canines as to why they left, though I know fully well why they did. Some kind of epidemic was going on in Redemption City, something truly serious. It was some unknown sickness that began spreading like wildfire, and it was believed that something in the city was the cause. Many humans died before they finally realized it was time to just leave, not willing to risk even more leaves. They really didn't take much with them, believing that some items might carry along the sickness with them. So, they just left as soon as they could in order to avoid catching the sickness, even the people out in the countryside closer to the city fled in fear. However, it seemed the canines remained unaffected and other wildlife. So they left them behind, fearing that their dear pets and strays may be some of the cause. They wouldn't risk it, even for a dear friend.

It's only been a few months since they last walked the streets and filled the buildings. Somewhere around five or six if I'm correct, no one really knows the exact time since the last one left. It wasn't long until the strays took over the streets and the buildings, wasting no time in making the city their home. Redemption has now been abandoned, no humans making an effort to come investigate because the city is rather small and far away from any others. Normal street dogs don't seem to mind the disappearance at all, even forming their gangs and families on the streets. It's the previous pets that seem to be having some trouble, though more than often they fall into the gang life because they still need someone to care for them. It's a jungle out there, the animals and canines now taking control of everything. It's still unknown what the sickness is, the canines don't even know about it since all they remember is the humans leaving. The city has literally gone to the dogs, it's no longer a place for humans to roam. The strays now reign supreme in Redemption City.
